Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum and academic standards.
• Create a positive, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and respect.
• Assess and monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents.
• Prepare and maintain curriculum maps to ensure alignment with educational standards and school goals.
• Implement effective classroom management strategies to maintain a safe and productive learning environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, administrators, and the wider school community to support student success.
• Participate in school meetings, professional development, and school activities as required.
• Uphold and support the mission, vision, and values of Al Andalus Institute of Pittsburgh.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education or a related field.
• Proficiency in English; Arabic proficiency required for Arabic, Qur’an, and Islamic Studies teaching positions.
• Commitment to working with students from diverse backgrounds and communities.
• Strong commitment to student achievement and maintaining high expectations for all learners.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of teaching experience.
• Completed or in-process teacher certification.

Substitute Teachers – Ongoing Applications

Al Andalus Institute of Pittsburgh is continuously seeking dependable and caring Substitute Teachers to join our on-call substitute team.

Substitute Teachers provide classroom coverage when regular teachers are absent and help maintain a safe, positive, and productive learning environment for students.

Responsibilities

• Follow lesson plans and instructions provided by the classroom teacher.
• Supervise and support students throughout the school day.
• Maintain classroom routines, expectations, and appropriate behavior.
• Create a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment.
• Communicate any important information or concerns to school administration.
• Uphold the mission and values of Al Andalus Institute of Pittsburgh.

Qualifications

• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or degree preferred.
• Experience working with children is preferred.
• Must be dependable, flexible, professional, and comfortable working with students in different grade levels.
• Must complete all required background clearances before working with students.
