Overview

The Al Andalus Institute of Pittsburgh Homeschooling Co-op Program is designed for students in grades 6-12 who are enrolled in an online school but seek a structured, supportive, and enriching environment to complete their studies. Our program offers a unique blend of supervised learning, community engagement, and supplementary Islamic education, ensuring that students excel academically while staying grounded in Islamic values.

Enrollment Process:

  • Students must first be enrolled in an accredited online school.
  • After online school enrollment, families can register for the Al Andalus Homeschooling Co-op Program using our admissions application
  • A meeting with the Homeschooling Co-op Youth Coordinator will be scheduled to discuss each student’s academic needs and goals.

Structure

Daily Supervision and Support:

Students will come together at our facility daily, where they will be supervised by a dedicated Youth Coordinator. The coordinator is responsible for ensuring that students remain focused on their online coursework, providing guidance, and assisting with any challenges that may arise during the day.

Online School Enrollment:

Students must be enrolled with a recognized online school of their choice. While the online school provides the core curriculum, Al Andalus Institute supplements this with additional classes in Arabic, Quran, and Islamic Studies.

Supplementary Islamic Education:

Alongside their online coursework, students will receive daily instruction in Arabic, Quran, and Islamic Studies. These classes are designed to enhance their understanding of the Arabic language, deepen their connection to the Quran, and solidify their knowledge of Islamic principles and history.
