Job Description:

Al Andalus Institute of Pittsburgh is seeking dedicated and passionate Teachers for the 2024-2025 school year. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that supports the academic and personal growth of all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in accordance with the curriculum.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and respect for diversity.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback to students and parents.
  • Prepare and update curriculum maps to ensure alignment with educational standards and goals.
  • Implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community to support student development.
  • Participate in school meetings, professional development, and extracurricular activities as required.
  • Uphold the mission and values of Al Andalus Institute of Pittsburgh.

Requirements:

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education or a related field.
  • Proficiency in English language instruction (and Arabic for Arabic, Quranic Studies, and Islamic Studies Teachers).
  • Commitment to and experience working with students from diverse communities.
  • Determination to drive student achievement and set high expectations for all students.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of teaching experience.
  • Completed or in-process teacher certification.
